Pictures, Paintings, and Mr. Brainwash

                                                                Mr. Brainwash
Born in London, Mr. Brainwash first came to love photography. This he placed above all else, before he came to find that he had a greater love for another art: graffiti. With the support of his family and the drive to discover his talent, he went on a search spree to find Banksy and other artists. With this drive, he created pictures and artwork that he would’ve never thought of.

Socially, Mr. Brainwash Mr. Brainwash became more and more interested in graffiti, he began to travel and expand his knowledge of artists. He communicated with more artists and he began to discover more of his artistic talent. In this picture, socially, we can see a philosophical man and a New York background. There are pictures of Marilyn Monroe in the background and a heart on the man’s right side. This, in my opinion, displays the love these people had for New York; as well as the social class differences between men and women. It looks as if they tried to make a historical picture modern. In the 2nd picture, it makes things and topics such as social networking and artistic ability seem big, large, and in charge. I believe that Mr. Brainwash was portraying that people might flock toward the things that seem big, important, and popular.

Politically, both pictures to me could be portraying government. The picture with the man shows that his governmental power is being overshadowed and overpowered by modern principles. He seems unimportant at the current moment in the present and less involved because his importance was of the past. In the picture with the big paint can, it seems that the paint can is most important and popular. Mr. Brainwash is conveying the idea that society and politics has the biggest power and say in the “world” of art. The paint can resembles that he has the most authority and that his opinion is favored and valued.

Lastly, technologically, Mr. Brainwash uses many different methods to get his pictures out and displayed. His pictures show the technological means and advantages that he had available to him. He could make bigger and better portraits and artworks. The picture with the man shows his technologically and artistic ability to layer. The picture with the paint can shows Brainwashes ability to enlarge photos and bring a bigger and better meaning to them.

Finally, Mr. Brainwash was not only a good painter, but he made his art work legendary. He showed his talent through his passion to learn and advance in artwork. Although he traveled the world to many different countries, cities, and continents, he didn’t let their powers overcome or colonialize his thoughts.  He had been arrested and criticized many times but he didn’t let these things break him. His passion, love, and expression of his work and desire to be a graffiti artist took him to new lengths of discovery and beyond.
